Hyundai 5-Year Warranty: What’s Covered & What It Means For You

Have you decided on a Hyundai or are you considering buying one? Great choice! Hyundai is known for its reliable vehicles and attractive value for money. A crucial point for many car buyers is the manufacturer’s warranty. Hyundai offers a particularly interesting deal with its “5-year warranty.” But what does that actually mean? What is covered, and are there things you need to be aware of? In this article, we explain everything you need to know about the Hyundai 5-year warranty conditions.

Hyundai Warranty in Detail

The Hyundai 5-year warranty is not just a marketing gimmick, but offers you tangible benefits. Unlike many other manufacturers, who often only offer a 2-year statutory warranty, Hyundai goes a step further and gives you peace of mind for 5 years or 100,000 kilometers (whichever comes first).

But be careful: Not everything is covered! The warranty relates to different components and assemblies of the vehicle and is divided into different areas:

1. Vehicle Warranty (5 Years / 100,000 km)

  • Covers most parts of the vehicle and applies to material or manufacturing defects.
  • Excludes wear parts such as brakes, tires, clutch, etc.

2. Paint Warranty (3 Years)

  • Protects against paint defects such as chipping or cracking.

3. Perforation Warranty (12 Years)

  • Offers protection against perforation corrosion of the bodywork from the inside out.

4. Mobility Warranty (5 Years)

  • Helps you in the event of a breakdown with towing, replacement car and more.
