What are Vent Valves and Why are They Important?
Every cooling system, whether in a car or industrial plant, is designed to dissipate heat and maintain a constant operating temperature. Over time, air bubbles can form in the coolant, which impairs cooling performance. This is exactly where vent valves come into play.
These small valves open automatically as soon as overpressure builds up in the system due to air or steam, allowing them to escape. Once the pressure has normalized and only coolant is flowing, they close again. This process ensures optimal coolant flow and prevents the formation of air pockets, which can lead to overheating and costly engine damage.
